The Five of Fortune were the unnamed founders of the [[Order of the Lucky Blades]] and the first defenders of what would become [[Silvercross]]. Their true names were never recorded, whether lost to humility, the chaos of battle, or the will of [[Tymora]] herself- and are considered deliberately absent from the Order’s doctrine. What is known is their composition, preserved in tradition rather than history:
- **A Paladin of Tymora**, whose faith bound the group together
- **A Paladin from a distant land**, seeking purpose rather than glory
- **A Thief**, whose wit and cunning saved the company more often than steel
- **A Barbarian**, whose strength shattered the impossible
- **A Fighter**, whose actions anchored the group in moments of chaos
Together, they defended a struggling caravan settlement against orc raiders and monstrous threats spilling out of [[The Stonelands]], earning the trust of its people through repeated acts of reckless courage and improbable survival. Their greatest deed came when they confronted and destroyed a powerful evil upon the hill where the [[The Crimson Coinhall]] now stands. In that battle, the Five invoked [[Tymora]]’s favor with such intensity that the earth itself split with golden light, and from that miracle was left behind the divine relic now known as [[The Luck Blade]]. Rather than claim the blade or rule as heroes, the Five enshrined it beneath the ground, carved their oaths into a wagon plank, and declared the founding of the [[Order of the Lucky Blades]]. When their work was done, they vanished into history, leaving behind doctrine, tradition, and belief, but no monuments to themselves.
Among the Order, it is taught that the greatest luck a hero can earn is to be forgotten once the world no longer needs them.
