Waterdeep was large enough that a man with white hair, a false name, and no desire to explain himself could disappear into the crowd without attracting much attention. - That anonymity mattered to me more than the room itself. The Portal was constantly filled with travelers, mercenaries, treasure hunters, and people carrying enough problems of their own that nobody seemed particularly interested in mine. - Returning to Waterdeep months later since departing for [[Stormwreck Isle]] with [[Yang Gang]] made the Portal feel strangely familiar despite how much had changed around me.
