It was built as a place for travelers, pilgrims, and anyone else passing through town who needed somewhere to sleep but could not necessarily afford an inn. - The Haven is simple by design: bunks, communal tables, a hearth, and enough shelter to make sure someone arriving in Silvercross does not have to spend the night outside just because their purse happens to be light. - [[Peldon Marr]] oversees the Haven and keeps the place running with the sort of consistency that makes it easy to forget how much work must actually go into it. - The Haven gets help from elsewhere in town when necessary, including food and supplies from places such as [[Hearthsprout Bakery]] and additional support when unusually large numbers of travelers arrive. - Growing up in Silvercross, I always saw the Haven as one of the nicer expressions of what the town believed in. It was not about comfort or profit so much as making sure somebody passing through had food, warmth, and a place to sleep before continuing on their way.
