I knew her from living in [[Silvercross]], mostly through [[The Steaming Hollow]], which her family has run for years. - Over time, Yalena took over much of the responsibility for running the Hollow from her parents. By then she already seemed completely at home there, and I never really thought twice about seeing her handling things herself. - She knows a great many of the people who come through the bathhouse and tends to remember the small details about them, including who prefers hotter pools, stronger herbs, or simply being left alone for a while... - Yalena also works with [[Bryndis Greenwhistle]] for many of the herbs and oils used in the baths. Quarry workers, travelers, pilgrims, and members of the [[Order of the Lucky Blades]] all pass through often enough that she has learned what tends to help each of them. - One thing I always noticed was that she never seemed particularly concerned with rank. Somebody from the Order was treated much the same as a quarry worker once they walked through the doors. - The Steaming Hollow was built by her parents, but Yalena has become such a familiar part of the place that it is difficult for me to think of one without the other.
