As a member of the [[Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors]], he has built his reputation through discipline, restraint, and a deep respect for the laws that govern arcane practice within the city. His studies focus on wards, abjuration, ancient magical theory, and the careful use of power rather than displays meant to impress others. Much of his story is shaped by the contrast between caution and ambition, especially through his connection to [[Sayla Solvaris]], a gifted high elf mage whose path eventually led her toward the [[Red Wizards]] of [[Thay]]. Aerendyl is not driven by glory or recklessness, but by the belief that magic must be understood and used with great purpose. His struggle lies in deciding whether Sayla can still be reached, or whether the person he once knew has already been lost to the power she chose. <div class="dioctionary-ribbon">HIS PAST</div> - Aerendyl was born in 1309 DR and spent much of his early life among Waterdeep’s arcane circles, where his patience and talent for structured spellwork set him apart. His skill with defensive magic eventually earned him a place within the [[Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors]], where he devoted himself to abjuration and the study of magical law. During a failed expedition years later, Aerendyl was saved by [[Sayla Solvaris]], a brilliant and secretive high elf mage who became a difficult presence in his life. Their relationship never settled into anything simple, shifting between rivalry, trust, affection, and betrayal as Sayla continued to appear and disappear during his work with the order. At times she aided him; at others- she appeared to work within the confines of her own agenda. When Aerendyl learned that she had become tied to the [[Red Wizards]] of [[Thay]], their bond became far more dangerous, leaving him torn between opposing her and trying to understand whether some part of the woman who saved him so many years ago still remains.
