His bronzed skin, shaved white hair, burning red-orange eyes, and ember-like markings make his elemental nature impossible to hide. He dresses simply and moves with careful restraint, as though every motion has been trained to avoid waste. As a monk of the Way of the Open Hand, Ignar fights with precision rather than spectacle, using his body as a weapon only when the situation demands it. <div class="dioctionary-ribbon">HIS PAST</div> - Ignar was born in 1466 DR in [[Memnon]], where fire is both sacred and ordinary. As a fire genasi, he grew up around the faith of [[Kossuth]], seeing flame as power, trial, and proof of what could endure. His elemental nature showed early, but it was never as simple as warmth in the blood or sparks at the fingertips. When Ignar was young, a market argument turned violent, and his fire answered before he could stop it. The flames injured bystanders and destroyed several stalls, leaving him with a guilt that discipline could not erase. Priests of Kossuth later warned that Ignar carried something unstable inside him, an elemental pressure that could grow beyond his control if left unchecked. He began to see himself as a sealed vessel, useful only as long as the seal held the pending volcanic eruption inside. Shortly after, Ignar left [[Calimshan]] in search of a way to master what lived inside him, eventually finding the [[Monastery of the Yellow Rose]]. There, the teachings of [[Ilmater]] changed him, showing him that suffering did not have to become shame and restraint did not have to mean fear. The monastery gave him discipline, but not a cure. Now he travels from place to place, seeking old teachings and elemental lore before the day comes when restraint is no longer enough.
