He is protective of his wife, Emmeline, and their children, Corinne and Jovan, though he has never been rich enough to protect them from everything. He respected [[Lucan Cinderwake]] cautiously at first, then warmed to him when it became clear Lucan was not playing at affection for Corinne. <div class="dioctionary-ribbon">HIS PAST</div> - Dalan was born in 1439 DR and spent most of his life in [[Waterdeep]], working whatever honest jobs the harbor and nearby streets could offer. He hauled goods, repaired small fixtures, helped move cargo, and learned how to keep his head down without letting people walk over him. He married [[Emmeline Virell]] after years of working near the same dockside markets.
