- [[Uthgar]], also known as the Battle Father and Father of the Uthgardt, is the patron deity of the [[Uthgardt]] barbarian tribes of the North. Once a mortal warrior named Uthgar Gardolfsson, he led a great barbarian host through the North before dying from wounds taken in battle against Gurt, Lord of the Pale Giants, in 123 DR. Uthgar was later raised to divinity, becoming tied to physical strength, tribal ancestry, hunting, warfare, and the sacred beast totems of his people. Each Uthgardt tribe venerates a totem spirit, such as the Elk, Black Lion, Gray Wolf, Griffon, or Thunderbeast, through ancestral mounds rather than formal temples.
