<div class="dioctionary-ribbon">A Brief History</div>
- The Sunset Mountains rise as a vast and rugged barrier across the [[Western Heartlands]], split by the Far Hills yet forming a near-impenetrable divide between regions, their jagged peaks and winding passes creating both a natural defense and a constant threat to those who attempt to cross them. Rich in resources such as black-veined marble prized across [[Faerûn]], the range draws traders and prospectors despite the dangers, with dwarven clans maintaining mines and trade routes that connect to settlements like [[Easting]]. Beyond these pockets of civilization, however, the mountains are dominated by hostile forces; gnoll warbands, ogres, yeti, drow and frost giants.
