<div class="dioctionary-ribbon">A Brief History</div>
- Lich-Halt is a remote and impoverished hamlet set deep within the [[Neverwinter Woods]], built from the remains of a long-abandoned circular fortress that once stood around a massive subterranean crypt, its stone walls gradually dismantled over generations to form the structures that now house its small and struggling population. Numbering fewer than a hundred souls, including a constant force of roughly twenty guards such as [[Constantine]], the settlement survives through strict discipline, imported goods, and a culture shaped by isolation and hardship, where education is limited, punishment is severe, and identity itself is simplified, with residents known only by single names rather than family lineage. The land offers little in the way of natural support; its water is undrinkable without boiling, leading the people to rely heavily on locally produced cider as their primary source of safe consumption. Every two decades, a mysterious plague passes through the hamlet, arriving without clear cause and leaving behind death, fear, and unanswered questions, reinforcing the belief among its people that whatever lies beneath the old crypt was never truly meant to be built over. Governed under the authority of [[Lord Aeric]] and tied to [[House Valebright]], Lich-Halt endures not as a place of growth, but as one of survival.
