As the turning point between harvest’s end and winter’s beginning, it marks a moment of transition, where the living pause before the long cold ahead. It is a night devoted to remembrance. The dead are honored openly, their names spoken, their stories retold, and their absence acknowledged without disguise. Graves are tended, candles are lit, and communities gather beneath the moon to ensure that those who have passed are not forgotten. In regions shaped by conflict, the festival carries added weight, as the recently fallen are remembered alongside generations past.
