The Weave is the unseen lattice of arcane and divine power that saturates all of [[Artimis]], the medium through which every mortal spell is shaped. Governed by [[Mystra]], and by [[Mystryl]] before her; it is both a living structure and the goddess who embodies it. To scholars, the Weave is the engine of magic itself; to common folk, it is indistinguishable from “magic” altogether. When the Weave shattered during [[The Spellplague]] (1385 DR), the world convulsed. When it was restored in [[The Second Sundering]] (1480–1487 DR), stability returned… but none who lived through its absence forgot how fragile reality could become.
