From the moment he could stand, he was shaped by expectation, not just to serve the [[Order of the Lucky Blades]], but to embody what [[House Blackfen]] was meant to produce. Discipline, precision, control. Where others struggled to meet that standard, Cassian never failed to reach it, and because of that, he came to believe it was his by right. His rivalry with [[Dio Eldwynair]] began long before it was ever spoken aloud. Where Cassian followed every rule and mastered every lesson, Dio moved through the Order with a kind of reckless ease that drew attention without earning it in the ways Cassian understood. Praise came to Dio in moments, while Cassian earned his over years, and though he never spoke against it openly, the imbalance never left him. When Dio fell, Cassian did not mourn him. He saw confirmation. Proof that instinct, unchecked, leads to failure. And yet, the shadow of that comparison never disappeared. Within the Order, Cassian is respected, capable, and precise, but there is something rigid in him that others feel even if they cannot name it. He does not bend, does not adapt easily, and does not forgive failure, in others or in himself. His faith in [[Tymora]] is not one of chance or fortune, but of control, the belief that if everything is done correctly, nothing should go wrong.
