<div class="dioctionary-ribbon">A Brief History</div>
- The Dragon Coast stretches along the southern shores of the Dragonmere and the western edge of the Sea of Fallen Stars, a fractured region defined less by unity and more by opportunity, where independent city-states, pirate enclaves, and mercantile powers exist side by side without ever truly aligning. Known across Faerûn as a haven for smugglers, cutthroats, and ambitious traders, the coast thrives on commerce that ranges from legitimate trade to outright criminal enterprise, its ports and roads serving as crossroads between [[Sembia]], and the [[Western Heartlands]]. Cities such as [[Westgate]] stand as symbols of this identity, wealthy, dangerous, and fiercely independent, where influence is bought, sold, or taken outright. With no central authority, defense falls to hired blades, private forces, and those strong enough to hold what they claim, creating a region where power is constantly shifting and stability is never guaranteed. Even after upheavals such as [[The Spellplague]] and the expansion of nearby powers like [[Cormyr]], the Dragon Coast remains unchanged at its core, a place where law is optional, reputation is currency, and every opportunity carries risk equal to its reward.
