The structure itself reflects that purpose, its ground level open, warm, and accessible, lined with shelves of commonly used texts, reading tables, and quiet study corners where townsfolk and students alike can spend their time without interruption. Activity remains light and steady, most noticeable during lesson hours, when the school’s presence brings a soft rhythm of movement and quiet instruction into the space. Beneath the surface, however, the library extends far deeper than it first appears. A broad, stone-carved underhall stretches below the main floor, its cooler air preserving a growing archive of texts, records, and collected works that expand year by year. These lower stacks are more subdued, less frequented, and carry a sense of quiet weight, a place of study rather than casual reading.
