There are plenty of stories about him surviving [[Undermountain]] and returning with enough wealth to make something of himself afterward. I never cared enough to separate every piece of the legend from the man behind the bar. - I stayed at the Portal under the name [[Ronan Blackfen]] during more than one life. Durnan was good at the particular kind of hospitality I wanted then: take my coin, give me a room, and do not ask why I clearly did not want to talk about myself. - Years later, in a different life, he handed me a sealed letter addressed to Diomeades Eldwynair. - The letter was from [[Yang Pahlavan]] and told me to travel to [[Dragon's Rest]] on [[Stormwreck Isle]]. I still do not know how Yang knew where to find me, how the letter reached Durnan, or what Durnan thought when he saw the name on it.
