Olivia's stories called him the "Old Mage", the "Sage of [[Shadowdale]]", and one of "[[Mystra]]'s Chosen". How much of everything she said about him is true, I could not begin to tell you. - [[Olivia Halcrest]] actually met him when she was younger at [[Candlekeep]], where she was assigned to help him with some of his writings. She spoke fondly enough about the experience that I suspect meeting Elminster was one of those things she remembered for the rest of her life. - Apparently his pointed hat left enough of an impression on her that she later commissioned the crimson one she became known for wearing. That same hat eventually became mine, so in a very strange way I have been carrying around a small piece of a story that started with a man I have never met. - I would like to meet him one day. Partly because Olivia did, partly because anyone who has survived that many centuries probably has a few answers worth hearing.
